After completing his fellowship, Dr. Wilkerson was one of two US Air Force neurotologists at San Antonio Military Medical Center and Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. During his time in the military, he helped manage the ear and lateral skull base care of our active duty service members and their families.
Currently, he is on staff at Ascension Providence Hospital – Southfield Campus and Beaumont Hospital – Royal Oak.
A member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, he is certified in otolaryngology and neurotology by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, which serves the public by ensuring that diplomats meet standards of training, knowledge, and professionalism through initial and continuing certification.
In addition to patient care, Dr. Wilkerson is engaged in research and education of residents and fellows. He has published several peer-reviewed articles and several book chapters in the fields of otology and neurotology. His research interests include the management of explosion-induced hearing loss and tinnitus, cochlear implantation in the elderly and methods of hearing regeneration.
