SCM celebrates 70 years of innovation for the woodworking industry at Xylexpo

SCM will once again take center stage at the latest edition of Xylexpo 2022, which will be held from 12-5 October in conjunction with the engineering event Bi.Mu. at the Milan-Rho showrounds outside of Milan.

The trade fair will be a special opportunity for the world-famous Group from Rimini to celebrate its 70th anniversary with customers, dealers and partners. SCM’s first woodworking machine, L’invincibile started in 1952 and from there, the beginning of a long history of international successes that continues to this day, with 750 million Euros in turnover, over 4000 employees and a worldwide unique range of products and services to meet all production needs for wood machining.

In an innovative, multimedia stand of more than 2000m2 in Pavilion 22, the Group will present its vision of the digital, connected and integrated factory, designed to accompany all businesses and application fields in the sector: from artisans to large industry; from furniture to windows and doors and from woodworking to building timber.

Integration will be one of the key concepts that will drive visitors’ experience at the SCM stand. The Smart&Human Factory model successfully applied by global manufacturing leaders, will present various innovations aimed at making customer processes more efficient and sustainable and will be proposed again in two specific versions for industry and artisan .

In both cases, SCM will propose integrated automated flexible cell systems that are modular and easy to reconfigure, capable of meeting all the demands of Industry 4.0.

Cells that combine the advantages of SCM technologies in terms of solidity, efficiency and reliability, with world class manufacturing of digital products and services: MES system to manage and control production; line and cell supervisory software to monitor the state of each of the products produced throughout the process; IoT systems and apps to gather and analyze data from machines, for complete control and implementation of intelligent and prognostic maintenance models. Without forgetting the robotic and automation systems integrated into the machines, they are also flexible and modular, for use in large industries.

Also included is the digital transformation vision that visitors to Xylexpo will have the opportunity to see for themselves in the SCM Digital Integrated Woodworking Process. Here, technologies, software and services come together at every stage – data preparation, planning, production, monitoring and assistance – to increase productivity and connect the entire process from the office to the factory.

There are many new entries in the software process, at various stages of woodworking. Great interest is also expected for easyFlow, SCM’s new MES plug&play that is simple, scalable and available even to artisan businesses, and Thundercut, the cutting optimiser-sequencer that brings the potential of a circular saw closer to the most powerful industrial panel saws .

In the same place, there will be an opportunity to get a more in-depth explanation from SCM experts on the growing number of customer-centric digital services that support the customer from before to after sales: the new MySCM portal that provides access to wide range. of technical support services anytime, anywhere, even via smartphone; the new integrated E-shop for on-line sales of machines, spare parts, software and services; the IoT Maestro connect platform is perfectly integrated into the project ‘Woodworking made Izy’ which sees the most important machinery manufacturers committed to offering a common language for their technologies, as part of a complete integration of customer machines .
